IETA's mission is to empower businesses to engage in climate action and advance the objectives of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Paris Agreement. It aims to establish effective market-based trading systems for greenhouse gas emissions and removals that are environmentally robust, fair, open, efficient, accountable and consistent across national boundaries.

"By joining IETA, we seek to contribute our team’s decades of experience in certification, regulation, technology and innovation to integrate the best practices from existing standards with the full potential that blockchain promises the industry” , says Adam Carver, Bitgreen CEO.

Bitgreen’s blockchain-based carbon credit marketplace is designed to improve carbon credit accessibility, price discovery, transparency, and verifiability. The Bitgreen impact investment platform will fund new high-quality carbon credit projects as well as improve funding access and transparency.
