BG Promise is a Wyoming-based 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming philanthropic initiatives at the intersection of blockchain, environmental sustainability and community.
We specialize in leveraging distributed ledger technology along with other internet and financial mechanisms to mobilize resources and human collaboration to solve some of humanity’s most pressing and persistent challenges, such as decarbonization, individual empowerment, and the coexistence between humanity and the planet.
Founded as a 501(c)3 offshoot of Bitgreen, a blockchain association committed to sustainable finance and decarbonization, BG Promise weaves cutting-edge technology with grassroots and local impact. In 2024, Bitgreen successfully invested over $5 million to build solar+storage infrastructure in low-and-middle-income and energy transition communities across the U.S.
By combining mission-driven priorities with a signature development approach, BG Promise ensures that every project delivers tangible benefits to the families and communities it touches, while extending the magic of blockchain to novel sectors of the global economy.
At BG Promise, we are undaunted to face the challenges of energy poverty in communities in need of cheaper and more reliable electricity. In 2025 we have identified several shovel-ready solar projects poised for immediate development in Puerto Rico, Washington DC and Maryland. These projects have undergone rigorous due diligence and are strategically designed to provide resiliency and immediate impact to underserved families, guaranteeing savings of 30-100% on their monthly electricity bills.
Through our partnership with the local advocate Koshi Coop, BG Promise is advancing indigenous land rights and environmental conservation of the Amazon Rainforest in Peru. Our year-and-a-half engagement with the Shipibo-Conibo tribe focuses on protecting the Shipibo’s claim to ancestral land against encroachment from agricultural settlers and outside interests. The effort addresses several challenges at once: cultural preservation, biodiversity protection, land conservation, and climate change -- along with championing an ancient people with a global gift.
One Month Of is a novel blockchain-powered game developed by BG Promise that challenges users to achieve a positive behavior change in 30 days. The game prompts users to commit to a personal growth goal, such as health, better habits, work or community, and track their progress by setting achievable daily or weekly milestones. The incentive pool is sweetened by staking BBB tokens as a commitment deposit, creating a positive feedback loop of personal accountability, achievement and reward.
BG Promise has grown from seed to sapling thanks to the generous support of individuals and organizations far and wide who share our common purpose for utilizing technology for the betterment of humanity.
